The situation escalated further when, just over an hour later, police received information suggesting the man may have suffered life-threatening injuries, though his exact whereabouts remained unknown at that time. In response, RCMP immediately launched a full-scale search operation.
Multiple specialized units were deployed, including RCMP officers, Police Dog Services, First Nation Safety Officers, and a drone unit, all working together to cover the area and locate the missing man as quickly as possible. The search focused heavily on rural and wooded regions surrounding the community.
Despite these urgent efforts, the search came to a devastating conclusion shortly after 3:30 p.m., when the man was located deceased in a wooded area.
